Hi Diane,

Thanks for your question.

I suggest that you run the focus groups for 1 - 1 1/2 hours per session. You would usually only conduct the focus groups before you were designing a major engagement strategy. Then you would find out what the gap was between what employees understood a situation to be about and what the reality was. Once you have this information after designing and implementing your strategy you would use another technique to measure its success. Full details about how to set up and conduct focus groups is contained in <a href="http://www.mcssl.com/SecureCart/ViewCart.aspx?mid=47052F7D-751B-42AB-88BC-ED82B4BBD066&sctoken=b1ff8974144442d2b5126dd0b68e94d7&bhcp=1" rel="nofollow">"Transformational Leadership - How Great Leaders Change Organizations". </a>

Hi Marcia,

Can you answer a few questions for me?

I understand the steps you have laid out for me to take.
They will be put to good use in my office, I can assure you.

The question is, How often & for what length of time,
do you suggest I keep running the focus groups?

I don’t want to overwhelm busy schedules or extent them longer then necessary, but I want to be sure they end up working correctly.

I will look forward to your reply.
